Dr. Brenda Jacobs

Brenda Jacobs, M.D., FACOG, is a board certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with over 28 years in practice in Long Beach, California. Dr. Jacobs earned her medical degree at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. She did her internship and residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Prior to medical school, Dr. Jacobs was elected to Phi Beta Kappa while attending the University of Southern California.

Dr. Jacobs is an attending physician on staff at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. In addition, she is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is a member of the American Medical Association. Her special interests include peri-menopausal and menopausal medicine, contraceptive counseling and adolescent medicine.

When caring for patients, Dr. Jacobs strives to provide the quality of care that she would want to receive from her own physician. She takes pride in being accessible to her patients and is committed to making patients feel informed and in charge of their health. Dr Jacobs strives to provide a pleasant environment where women feel comfortable enough to openly discuss their concerns. Importantly, she takes time to listen to her patients' concerns, and, together, they develop a medical plan that will lead to success. Dr. Jacobs has two grown children, David and Lauren. She is married to Dominic Meo III, who is an environmental consultant. They have a West Highland terrier named Maxine and a cat named Maui.

DR. ESSAM TAYMOUR, M.D. 

Dr. Taymour, M.D., FACOG, is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist since 1983 and a Fellow of the American College of OB/Gyn. He started his private practice in Long

Beach in 1981 and has continued uninterrupted to date. He has full privileges at

Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Greater Long Beach Surgery center. He

has championed minimally invasive gynecological surgery since it started to evolve

in the 1980's. He provides a broad spectrum of services for women's health needs

including obstetrical services, laparoscopic, robotic and pelvic reconstruction

procedures. He is currently involved with a new innovative radiofrequency ablative

procedure for the treatment of uterine fibroids called Acessa.

Dr. Taymour is a graduate of the University of Alexandria Medical School. He

completed his internship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York, and a

residency program in OB/GYN at the Geisinger Medial Center in Pennsylvania. He

extended his training to include a fellowship in Pelvic Surgery at SUNY Upstate

Medical Center in Syracuse, N.Y.

Dr. Taymour is married with three daughters and three grandchildren. He was

honored by LBMMC as Doctor of the Year in 2010. He has also received numerous

awards for teaching the residents at Long Beach Hospital.

Dr. Taymour strives to provide the most current and proficient care to women in the

most compassionate and personal manner.
